"Cystic Fibrosis is a very complex lifelong condition affecting multiple organs with a very intensive therapy regime" says nOink Co-founder Dr Liam Holohan.
nOink, in creating this condition pack recognised early on that living with cystic fibrosis is about far more than monitoring pulmonary function. CF today is managed by a combination of drugs, physiotherapy and diet.
The complexity of the illness is reflected in the size of the condition pack produced for the platform.
"The pack is our largest to date and allows users to record over 120 different types of structured notes and share with their clinicians" says co-founder Trevor Gill.
To really be as complete as possible for this condition, nOink included information on over 90,000 approved medications from medicine agencies around the world.
"We believe that creating this Cystic fibrosis condition pack vindicates our ’rare disease first’ philosophy" says Dr Holohan.
"Rare diseases are often overlooked by Healthtech companies but we feel such complex condition really tests the ability of any software. What we have learned from CF is directly applicable to other conditions such as Asthma or COPD" Dr Holohan continues.
"Working with the CF community, has given nOink far more than just subject matter expertise" adds Trevor. If the fruits of this collaboration have resulted in a useful tool for CF families it is a job well done.
With users spread across Ireland, UK the Australia, nOink is on track to become a truly global tool for families living with Cystic Fibrosis. With that in mind, nOink’s offering is already available in 13 languages.
This Cystic Fibrosis condition pack was recently featured in Rare revolution magazine.
